These wraps from Angie’s recipes make me feel good just looking at them! (It’s just as well as there are plenty of sweet treats in the rest of today’s five.) I love the presentation in the radicchio leaves and the can imagine the contrast with the sweet pop of pomegranate seeds.
Susan from FatFree Vegan Kitchen presents a dessert that would also fit perfectly as an alternative to french toast for a decadent brunch. In fact the spiced apple-pecan compote alone would make a tasty pairing with all sorts of things in a sweet breakfast.
I love a good cooking experiment, even if they can be risky (especially in baking!). Over at Annie’s Eats marshmallows are at the centre of the experiments, and these cookie bars are certainly a success! The only thing I wonder is how you prevent yourself from eating the marshmallows as soon as they are toasted ;).
The vanilla slice is an Aussie baking icon. I agree with Sophia from Little Box Brownie, though, that good examples are too hard to find these days. Well, that’s a good reason to try your hand at making your own, and adding a little twist like the ginger in these beauties.
Here’s an impressive little treat from Dawn at First Look, Then Cook that makes a nice change from regular cookies. Make sure you get some quality puff pastry, and these palmiers will be a delectably buttery and spicy way to impress your guests.
